The “energy” for biogas comes from NAWAROs or organic waste material which is largely converted into methane with the help of diligent bacteria under the exclusion of air. At the beginning of the process, the enzymes are charged with the substrates. At a dry matter content of approx. 5-15%, the fermentation process consists of four biological phases: the hydrolysis phase, acidification phase, acetogenic phase and methanogenic phase. The conversion into predominantly biogas, carbon dioxide and water vapor takes place at a temperature of about 40°C. NETZSCH provides the appropriate importation technology for the stable operation of these processes along with pumping and grinding technology designed to handle a great variety of substances.
