Oil Industry

NETZSCH Progressing Cavity Pumps have been used successfully in the extraction of crude oil for years. In upstream applications, borehole pumps are used, which are perfectly suited for API grades under 21. Depending upon the characteristics of the borehole, NETZSCH downhole pumps are driven either by a motor above ground via a shaft, or by an immersible motor. With NEMO PUMPS®, immersion depths of up to 2400m can be reached.

Once the crude oil is on the surface, dependable NEMO PUMPS® can be used as booster or multi-phase pumps for its further transport. The multi-phase applications in particular are becoming increasingly important, since to economically exploit deposits with decreasing pressure and increasing water, sand, and gas content, dependable low-maintenance pumps are required. A construction designed with this application in mind allows unproblematic transport of substances with up to 100% gas content.
